Do you remember the days of slavery? People always ask this question as if slavery is the thing of the past.
I always feel very sad reading history books about how blacks suffered during colonisation. Stories about millions of black people who were tortured and killed trying to fight slavery. African leaders who were killed defending their people and countries.
Slavery has now been modernized and structured in such a way that people does not even realise how worse the situation has become compared to they way it was during apartheid and colonisation. This story is not meant to harm, but to create awareness of where we are compared to history.
We are now in another phase of slavery where people seem to be enjoying being slaves. These days’ people fight to become slaves. They send their CVs to become slaves and they even go all the way to strike if they are not made slaves.
We appear to be people who are in a permanent state of mental slavery, a permanent state of begging, a permanent state of whining, and a permanent state of panicking. We have declared ourselves permanent slaves and employees of this world.
I don’t blame it on the lack of skills and knowledge, but on laziness. A skill can be developed and perfected through practice.
We blame the Americans for ignoring us and not making us slaves. Why did we fight for freedom if we cannot survive without the enemies? Thinking too much won’t damage your brain, but it will only make you smarter.
We are easily intimidated by words but handles pain so well when being pushed around by our masters. We feel good around slave masters than around our fellow blacks.
Slavery was a deliberate action, not a mistake, and if an opportunity arises again, the perpetrators would definitely do it again. The purpose of this post is to create awareness of how fresh a black man’s brain is in terms of being utilised.
I would like to engage everybody in this discussion on how slavery has developed into something luxurious to black people. The fact that you are unchained does not mean that you are free. You can only be free if your mind is free. Your mind is free when you can do something for yourself, by yourself.
You won’t touch the freedom until you feel the freedom,
You won’t see the freedom until you feel the freedom,
You don’t have to be told that you are free; you need to feel that you are free.
You don’t need to be convinced that you are free, you need to convince yourself that you are free.
Or maybe you feel that you are free to be slaves.
